Restoring Ghana's land, for the people who own it
Ayissi Project Ghana Limited promotes a large-scale reforestation and carbon credit programme on behalf of communities in the Eastern, Ashanti and Volta regions.
Appointed by the chiefs
The chiefs of three communities came together under one Ghanaian company to manage their land as a single project. That company legally issued Ayissi Project Ghana Limited a Power of Attorney (POA) to promote the project for a term of 15 to 50 years.
Ayissi Project Ghana Ltd has joined with Legacy Farms Ltd, a leading company in Ghana, to deliver the project. We bring it to international investors, carbon markets and development partners, and Palm Springs Consulting Ltd supports the work on the ground.
Three parts of one plan
Reforestation
We plant tree species selected for carbon capture and oxygen production, with agroforestry and organic honey production alongside. Planting runs in phases, one community at a time.
Carbon credits
International environmental organisations assess and certify the carbon the forest captures. We sell the certified credits on world markets, and an insurance wrap protects the project from swings in carbon prices.
Agro-industry
We plan soybean processing plants, factories and warehouses, with supply chains serving buyers in Ghana and abroad.
Infrastructure the regions need
Some communities in these regions still hold classes under trees. Carbon revenue gives them the means to build.
